Six Benefits of Woven Wire Mesh
Industrial woven wire mesh is a versatile material that offers a number of advantages for a variety of applications. Some of its key benefits include:
Strength and durability: woven wire mesh is ideal for industrial applications where it will be exposed to harsh conditions, such as heat, chemicals, and abrasion.
Flexibility: woven wire mesh can be woven in a variety of patterns and sizes, making it highly flexible and adaptable to a wide range of applications.
Elasticity: as woven wire mesh can be crimped, the resulting mesh take on elastic qualities, making is ideal as a cushioning separator layer, such as the nickel woven mesh elastic elements founds in alkaline electrolyzers.
Openness: woven wire mesh has a open structure, which allows for liquid and air flow, ideal for applications such as filtration, screening, and ventilation.
Corrosion resistance: materials such as stainless steel, copper, and aluminum are highly resistant to corrosion, ideal in humid or corrosive conditions
Affordability: woven wire mesh is a relatively affordable material. Contact our team to talk about your specifications and to get a quote.
Types of Woven Wire Mesh
There are three main types of woven wire mesh:
- Plain weave mesh is the simplest type of woven wire mesh. It is made by weaving the warp wires over and under the weft wires in a simple alternating pattern. Plain weave mesh is strong and durable, but it is not as flexible as other types of mesh. It is also not as open as other types of mesh, meaning that it has smaller openings between the wires.
- Twill weave mesh is made by weaving the warp wires over and under the weft wires in a staggered pattern. This pattern creates a diagonal weave that is more flexible and open than plain weave mesh. Twill weave mesh is also stronger than plain weave mesh.
- Dutch weave mesh is the most open type of woven wire mesh. It is made by weaving the warp wires over and under two or more weft wires. This pattern creates large openings between the wires. Dutch weave mesh is not as strong as other types of mesh, but it is very flexible and open.
To choose the right woven wire mesh for your application, you should consider several factors, including the material, weave pattern, wire diameter, mesh size, and application. Our industrial woven wire mesh experts can guide you through the selection process and produce a custom product that best meets your specifications.
